Dean Burnett

In the beginning...

Dean started writing songs and poetry from about the age of ten. As he grew he got into music and started off on the guitar. After a brief spell he discovered the wonders of Synthesizers and bought his first monophonic synth in the early 80's. A Jen SX1000. Heavily Influenced by the likes of Bowie, and later Numan, Depeche Mode, Japan, Ferry The Cure, The banshees and Bauhaus etc, Dean started working with others and forming/joining bands, writing little pop tunes and such. Since then Dean has written and co-written hundreds of songs and been involved in bands such as Japanese Whispers and The Tower/Redshift. These bands are having their music re-released at present with singles and Albums from Dean,The Tower and Japanese Whispers all out on the many download stores, such as ITunes and Amazon.

After the disappointment of The Tower/Redshift finally splitting up on the brink of a recording contract, Dean left the music scene for a several Years, until  someone, one day, suggested setting up 'The Tower' Website. With that, Dean began to get his interest back in writing again.  A chance meeting and conversation from a myspace friend, who used to watch the Tower live, resulted in a new writing and team under the name of Weathered Wall. After buying lots of home studio equipment and software-synths, mikes etc and a few meetings with the new partner Simon, Dean started work on the team's first album. 'The History of Graffiti' was Weathered Wall's first album by Dean and Simon and includes other artists here and there like Julia and Nikola from Bosnia. Weathered Wall as Dean Burnett and Simon Watson Continued with another two Album's Titled 'Time' and 'Black Blood'. Simon Then Departed from Weathered Wall to follow His Photography, but remains closely linked with Dean and Weathered Wall. Dean was then Joined by the Multi Talented Neil Fellowes who added a whole new dimension to the writing and production of Weathered Wall Tracks. With Neil on board, Weathered Wall have since released their forth Album 'Josephine' as well as a couple of EP releases 'Breath (to dare mix)' and 'Needles'. Sadly Neil Has now taken a back step to pursue and continue some of his own work and further his passion of Photography. While Dean continues to write ever more Material. Noted Recent Releases include the 'Dead Walking' album and now the E.P. 'Close your Eyes' using both Neil and Simon's skills as photographers and local Model and Actress, 'Estelle Long', for the cover of the E.P. Following this with some more themed stuff and the Album 'Faithless'. Recently followed up by an EP called 'You Always Give Up' With a new co writers 'Coral Cross' And 'Dug Dale'
At present Dean is currently working on the next album which promises to be a continuation from 'the last EP with Coral and Dug Dale. In the background there is also work on a spoken word Album that Dean has always wanted to do. Combining His Poetry to Background music rather than the traditional Song with Lyrics. As well as another Project combining imagery with Poetry in Book form.

Dean Burnett:
"I've always been interested in words, in Music, in Images. I never really set out to become a band or pop musician. I've never really been that bothered about being overly famous or Rich. I just find it easy to come up with poems or write a piece of Music. I enjoy and get the most satisfaction from this. Since coming back into it, I can't stop myself. It is what I am"
